Romantic Valentines Day Date Ideas

Do you struggle to come up with really good Valentine's Day date ideas? Romantic dates can be more fun than you might think, and there are plenty of romantic spots for you to take your date. Here are a few tips for planning the perfect Valentine's Day date.

Valentine's Day Date Ideas: Romantic Dates
Many people hire a limousine to go out to a restaurant for dinner, drinks and dancing on Valentine's Day. Instead of dealing with the crowds, why not find an out-of-the-way spot and hire a limo to take you and your beloved out for a romantic picnic. You can either pack your picnic yourself or have a local deli pack it for you. Rather than having a lunch or dinner picnic, why not have a picnic breakfast as the sun is rising, or, if you are a late sleeper, why not plan a brunch? Don't forget to hide a Valentine gift in the picnic basket!

You can always splurge on romantic dates by buying tickets to the opera, the symphony or the ballet, particularly if your Valentine loves these activities and you could really do without them. Your Valentine will more than appreciate your thoughtfulness. Dressing up and keeping your destination a secret will only add to the suspense and surprise of Valentine's Day.

Valentine's Day Date Ideas: Unusual Romantic Spots
Valentine's Day rendezvous in unusual spots can turn into incredibly romantic dates. Have you ever wanted to take a hot air balloon ride, go parachuting or go bungee jumping? Valentine's Day is your chance to have a very romantic, very exciting date.

Perhaps you and your beloved have been talking about taking scuba diving lessons or have been discussing learning how to ride motorcycles. Why not make your first lesson a special Valentine's Day celebration? After your lessons, go out for a bite to eat and rehash the learning experience.

Romantic Dates: Tried-and-True Valentine's Day Date Ideas with a Twist
When in doubt, you can always fall back on the tried-and-true romantic dates. Take your Valentine to his or her favorite restaurant or to the best restaurant in town. If you make your reservations in advance, you can have an iced bottle of champagne waiting for you at your table. You might also want to have flowers delivered to the restaurant before your Valentine's Day dinner so that the waiter can place them on the table prior to your arrival.

What kind of a cook are you? Cooking a romantic dinner at home can be a wonderful way to treat your beloved. Put out scented candles, light a fire and uncork a good bottle of wine. The easiest way to prepare a Valentine's Day feast is to make a one-dish dinner, such as lasagna, that you can assemble ahead of time. Or, you might prefer to try to make your Valentine's favorite dish.

If you do end up dining at home with your Valentine, try eating in a different area. Spread a blanket in front of the fire, sit on the floor and eat delicious finger foods. Or, bundle up and eat outside by a space heater to enjoy the stars and the moon.
