For cat owners, the task of finding an apartment or rental that will accept cats can be difficult. As the rental market becomes tighter, landlords are selective about renters, and are likely to favor non-pet-owning tenants. Nevertheless, do not give up! There are landlords out there that are happy to rent to you and your cat.

Your apartment search will go better if your cat is flea-free, litter box trained, and an indoor cat.

Once you find an apartment, your responsibilities as a cat owner have only just begun. You'll need to properly care for your cat so that your cat is clean and healthy; sick cats are no fun, and they may even transmit diseases to you. For the most part, cats are fun and can make many experiences more enjoyable: try making a Halloween costume for your cat and watch all the fun to be had as you and your cat greet eager trick-or-treaters!

And keep in mind that whenever you go off for a vacation, you'll need to arrange for your pet's care while you're away. Of course if you really want, you can bring your cat along with you.
